Summer so far

So . . . summer is FINALLY here and we are enjoying every minute of it, despite the above and below pictures. We had a really big storm that came through with alot of rain and wind, we happened to be out driving and came home to this! A humongous tree got blown over in our backyard, it was about 5 feet away from hitting the house and luckily enough on the other side so it didn't completely crush the trampoline! We of course had to take pictures, how often does this happen?

Playin dress up in my shoes, always a popular past-time!
Our newest "thing" is wing night. Kurt has all of the sudden gone on a spicy kick so we went up to West Side Market and bought a big bag of chicken wings and Kurt talked to a guy at Buffalo Wild Wings and found out how to cook the things then we got some wayyyyyy good sauce and started to expirement! I must say, I think they are better Buffalo Wild Wings, and McKartny downed more than me!

We spend the majority of our time outside and Kylan spends 90% of that time on her bike, I think we're gonna be taking the training wheels off soon!

And of course it wouldn't be summer without lots of bumps and bruises, Kylan has a few to show off!

Thomas the Train

We got tickets this year for Thomas the Train and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. To say Kylan was excited is an understatement, she asked about it CONSTANTLY and counted down the hours until we got to ride on Thomas. It definitely was not a disappointment and she and McKartny both enjoyed every minute of it!

Getting ready to start our train ride!

The scenery was beautiful and they both stared out the window most of the time.

There was a tent with several train tables set up for the kids to play on, they could've stayed there all day if we'd let them!

Idaho Trip

The girls and I were able to spend April in Idaho while Kurt was at an externship in New Mexico. We had a great time, except for when we all get a nasty sickness and then gave it to everyone else in my family! Sorry! But the girls had a great time with their cousins and Grandma & Grandpa. It snowed several times and the wind blew EVERYDAY, but that's to be expected in Idaho!
Some of the cousins and Fred (the Indian), and yes they are picking their noses!

My sisters were pickin on McKartny, but she thought it was funny. despite the look on her face

Ty reading Ben & Kylan a bedtime story

McKartny ready to be packed away in the suitcase!

Kate wasn't too happy McKartny was sitting a little too close :)

Windy day playing out on the swingset, at least the sun was shining!

Since it was too cold to swim outside Kylan decided she wanted to have a beach party inside so we put on their swimsuits and flipflops and let them run around!

Well, this was our final visit to Grandma & Grandpa Sagers house. They move to Texas the end of this month so no more crazy get togethers and chaotic family reunions with tons of kids runnin around screaming at that house! We'll definitely miss it but Texas will be a new adventure and a new house to terrorize!!

Early Easter

Since we weren't going to be in Idaho for Easter this year we decided to do a few of our own family traditions the week before. We died Easter Eggs, had a mini Easter egg hunt and made a great Easter meal on Sunday! Then had another great Easter with my fam in Idaho!
This is the best pic I could get of the girls in their Easter dresses as we were rushing out the door to get to church on time!

Kylan's Day of 4's!

On 4-4 Kylan turned 4 years old! We had a birthday party with all of her friends a few days before we left for Idaho and she had a blast with everyone!

The whole gang, we were originally going to do it at a park but the weather didn't cooperate so we crammed into our house and made it work!

Who wants cake??? Meeeee!

Kylan & Haley, I love this pic, they are such cute friends!

This year she chose a Strawberry Shortcake themed cake, thanks to KynnLee she now is obsessed with Strawberry Shortcake and My Little Ponies!

McKartny thoroughly enjoyed her cupcake

Waiting "patiently" for cake
Opening presents

She really go spoiled this year with presents so thank you to all her friends who came and for the great gifts!
Kurt & I gave her a "big girl bike" that's pink & purple, she went bazurk! She's been out riding it everyday since we've been home from Idaho. Plus we got her some Buzz Lightyear & Woody toys that she's been asking for so I think she had a pretty great day! Plus on her actual b-day in Idaho at my Mom & Dad's she got the actual strawberry shortcake cake, her fav! I love my little girl, who is not quite so little anymore; she keeps me laughing all day with her imagination and crazy personality!

Time Flies

So where have we been? Still here in Cleveland waiting patiently, well not so patiently for winter to be over! Finally last week we got some beautiful warm days in the 60's and then today it's rainy and cold, the weather has certainly been a tease. Well since Christmas Kurt has officially become a 4th year student! Whoo hoo we're almost done! So this year will be spent traveling all over trying to figure out which residency programs he likes and who likes him, next month he is going to Albuqurque so I am headed to Burley, I don't think I'm quite ready to spend a whole by myself with the kids! We really haven't been up to much else exciting!
Goodness, I thought Kylan was Ms. Personality, well meet Ms. Personality Jr.! McKartny is still VERY tall for her age, she's off the percentile charts! Which Kylan was the same way, she is into climbing up on anything and everything and definitely knows how to get her way by giving kisses and hugs. She has Kurt wound very tightly around her finger and he does just about anything she wants, can you say spoiled?
I guess something exciting, we bought a new car! Well used, but new to us, it's a Trailblazer and I think Kylan was more excited to buy it than we were but it's definitely nice having alot more space and will be much easier to take a road trip to Texas to see Mom & Dad this Christmas!
On those few nice days we had we spent a majority of our time outside soaking up some much needed sun. I taught Kylan how to play hopscotch and she's obsessed, it's pretty cute, something so simple.

So we watch America's Funniest Videos every Sunday and there's always at least one video of a kid falling asleep in their high chair and I always said I would NEVER be one of the those Moms, "just put them to bed!" Well, a few days ago the kids were eating lunch and I ran downstairs to clean up a mess and then I hear Kylan at the top of the stairs whispering something so I go up and she whispers "McKartny is really tired" and I find her like this! It was a good hour before her usual nap time but I guess she just couldn't wait!

Another fun tale, so if you remember Kurt had surgery about a year and a half ago on his ankle that he rolled back in high school playing basketball and never just healed right. Well . . . there was a 3-on-3 tourney the school put on and whatdayaknow! he rolls the other one! Not a pretty picture, long story short he got it x-rayed, nothing broken, but still is hurting him REALLY bad and keeps saying he needs to get an MRI but hasn't yet!

We had what felt like a never-ending winter. Alot of days it was just too cold to go play in the show so the girls would dress up in their snow stuff anyways and pretend! Matching pajama story, McKartny is growing out of all her clothes and an accelerated rate so I went to Old Navy and got her some new jammies, well Kylan had a heart-attack because she wanted her jammies to match McKartnys so back we go to Old Navy and now they have matching pajamas!

Christmas

Yes we are still alive, it has been quite awhile since my last post. So we had a very relaxing, quiet, fun-filled Christmas here in Cleveland this year. It's so nice to have Kurt home for a much needed break and the girls think they're in heaven spending so much time with Dad!
Aunt Kristy & Grandma & Grandpa Kinghorn sent these cute fairy wings and skirt for the girls which neither of them took off for the whole day! Kylan was so excited especially because they're pink!

So ever since we came home from Idaho in July Kylan has been asking for a "pink & purle Jeep just like Presley's" (her cousin) so luckily Santa found a good deal on Craigslist for one and it was definitely the highlight of everyone's morning! We were sooooo excited to give it to her and the wait payed off. McKartny actually wouldn't get out of it for about an hour, not even to open present, I opened most of them for her and then gave them to her and she sat in the Jeep and played with them!

Worn-out McKartny amidst the mess!

Can't wait for it to warm-up so they can go bananas outside in it! We thought they'd be able to drive it in the basement but unfortunately Kylan isn't that good of a driver yet and runs into too many things!

Kylan was funny with Santa this year, she was very anxious to tell him what she wanted BUT she wouldn't sit on his lap and we basically had to force her to get close enough to him to take a picture! McKartny wanted absolutely nothing to do with him.
So all in all we had great holidays! We spent Christmas Eve with friends and even discovered some new traditions from them we might start on out own (thanks Haynes!) and we had a New Years Eve party at our house that was a blast; lots of yummy food, & fun games! We even stayed up until midnight, except for McKartny, but Kylan was definitely a bear the next day!
