Valentine's

Kylan was so excited when she got a Valentine's package from Grandma Sherre in the mail! She couldn't believe it was all for her and that she didn't get in trouble for tearing it open! Her favorite was the new red necklace and the stickers. She thought the candy was just a noise maker, she didn't realize she could eat it. Thanks Mom!

Having Fun

So Kylan found a new place to play, under the table! I guess it's like a secret fortress or something to her. She just weaves in and out of the chairs and has only hit her head a couple of times; she learned fast.

Just being silly trying on hats and gloves!

It's Official!

Well, for those who don't know, which probably isn't many of you, we are expecting #2 September 15th! The doctor said everything looks good & healthy and as of yesterday I am 9 weeks 5 days along. Kylan really has no idea, and doesn't really seem to care at all. We've tried to explain to her that there's a baby in mommy's tummy but she just looks at us like "what the heck are you talking about?" At the ultrasound yesterday the doctor was trying to get her to see the baby on the screen but she didn't want to have anything to do with it. She just sat and was content making a mess with the sucker he gave her! I have been feeling better than I did with Kylan, thank goodness, so things are going well and progressing. I feel like I could eat a horse and I swear I'm eating every hour on the hour or else I get pretty nauseous (not sure how that's spelled) Anyways, that's our good news for the week!

So Pretty

The other day I found Kylan in our closet with my purse; she had taken EVERYTHING out and scattered it all over. I grabbed the camera to take a pic and as soon as she saw me do that she hopped up and ran to her bedroom and said "Dress, dress, dress, camera, camera, camera, CHEEEEESSE!" It was very cute. She thinks tha whenever she sees a camera she has to put on her "pretty" dress and have me take a picture! Very stylish with her pajamas underneath don't ya think?

Silly little goose!

As you can see Kylan is getting sooooo big! I just find myself laughing at her all day because of the funny things she does, she acts so old sometimes! This particular day she wanted to wear my flip flops but the only way she could wear them, as you can see, is around her ankles. She walked around forever with 'em just flapping away. Don't ask me what she's doing in the middle picture because I really have no idea, just being our silly little goose!

Christmas Stuff

I guess it's time to update; it's been over a month so I'm way past due.

Before we left for home for Christmas we got to go over to Kirtland where they had some lights and a lot of nativity sets from all over the world. It was a little difficult with Kylan because all she wanted to do was grab EVERYTHING and the sister missionaries were watching us like hawks but it was fun and cold so we made it a short trip.

Above and below are pictures from Christmas Eve with Kurt's family. We had just went and ate at Johnny Carino's (yum!) and came back to open presents so we could get ahead of the huge snow storm. By this time it was past Kylan's nap time so she was a little ornery and not too interested in opening presents. At the time she was more fascinated with Presley's present but now loves her cabbage patch kid; she's fascinated with it's "panties."

Christmas morning we spent with my family and as you can see I'm not quite awake! Kylan was a little more excited to open presents and had fun tearing things apart. As you can see she LOVES jewelry and she spent most of the time playing with her necklaces. This Christmas was alot funner with her being older and I'm sure they'll get better and better.

Lookin' like Christmas

Every morning when Kylan and I get up we look out the window and stare and these pretty red trees. Well, Friday morning we woke up to this, I've never seen the combination of snow and red trees. Very festive!

We decided to put up the Christmas tree Friday and had a heck of a time doing so. We got out all the Christmas stuff and started wrapping the tree in lights when Kurt said, "Ya know we probably should have plugged these in to make sure they work," so we unwrapped the strand we had just put on and plugged them in and what do ya know they didn't work so we proceeded to check the rest of the lights and on 2 of the strands only half them worked so we did a little handywork here and there and got one strand to work and put them on the tree then plugged them in and they went back to not working. After a couple hours of trying to get lights to work Kurt finally gave in and went and bought all new lights. In the end it really came together and I really like our tree this year! I'm working on collecting and making more ornaments to fill it up a bit more, but it's better than the 1st year we got married when all we had on our trees was rafia bows.

Thanksgiving

We had a really great Thanksgiving with a few other Podiatry students and their families. The food turned out excellent considering we were all 1st timers with making Thanksgiving dinner, I must say I was impressed as to how well it turned out!

Kylan finally mastered coming down the stairs. It took her a few times sliding down head first before she figured out to just turn around.

Kylan, Lyza, and the Borers just chillin' reading a book.

Experiment

I was extremely bored the other day so I started to experiment with Kylan's hair and she actually held still just barely long enough for me to attempt to braid it. I must say I was pretty proud of myself, and her for that matter for putting up with me always messing around with her hair.

Halloween

We had a pretty fun Halloween this year. Kurt finally found the time to carve pumpkins and I think they turned out pretty good. Of course Kurt HAD to do a bat, he's still wishes he was Batman!

Halloween night a fellow podiatry student and his wife had a party at their house which was alot of fun. They live in a really nice neighborhood and everyone just sat out on their sidewalks with their candy so you didn't even have to walk up to the door for the most part. The weather was perfect, just needed a jacket. Kylan spent the majority of the time chasing around their 2 little dogs and didn't seem to care much about the candy. I had a hard time getting a good shot of her in her monkey costume, she just wouldn't hold still so this is as good as it gets.
