Catch Up

Wow I have been a very big slacker these past few months! Where has the time gone? Things are still moving along here in Lima, baby boy will be here in 2 weeks! I still can't believe it, I'm physically more than ready to get him out but mentally I'm kinda freakin' out, Kylan & McKartny are so independent now & to think about having a little baby again that can't do anything whatsoever for itself makes me a little nervous, plus I love my sleep & thinking about no sleep gives me anxiety! BUT we despite all the fears we are very excited to meet this little man!

We had a week of record breaking temps here recently & took full advantage pulling out all the summer clothes & setting up the tramp, it was a very much needed week full of sunshine & heat!

McKartny is a crazy little girl, she finds ways to keep me & herself entertained all day while Kylan is at school, never a dull moment!

Christmas

We had a very nice quiet Christmas together in Lima. Unfortunately Kurt was on call so we couldn't be more than 20 minutes away from the hospital but luckily he only had to leave once for a few minutes. It was a great day, so relaxing yet exciting!

McKartny got a Tangled vanity & her cousin Max got her some make-up which worked out perfectly so she spent the morning putting on make-up in the mirror, so grown up!

Kylan's Christmas was all about horses; horse jammies, horse blanket, flying horses, & her favorite Hank, her "real life" horse.

We had our Christmas Eve tradition of homemade pizza, opening jammies, reading the Christmas story, and this year I decided to make the girls some new fleece blankets. They went to be at a decent time surprisingly so Kurt & I didn't have to stay up too late to get things set up & we actually woke them up in the morning so we could open present & get to church. It was a fantastic weekend!
We also had some fun decorating popcorn balls & a gingerbread house

Updates

Kylan had 2 teeth pulled at the dentist for which the tooth fairy visited her & gave her "two one dollars!" She is still loving Kindergarten & makes a new friend everyday. I am amazed at how big she is getting so fast, especially when she reads me a book at night!
McKartny is still a crazy women & keeps Kurt & I laughing everyday with her quick wit & puppy dog eyes. She still has Kurt wrapped around her finger very tightly!

Kurt turned the big 3-0 this year & I had just had to rub it in that he's 3 years older than me & an old man! He's getting adjusted at work but still hates being at the bottom of the totem pole & not being in control, pretty sure that's the Taylor blood in him :)

In other news we made a trip to Idaho in November to be with Kurt's family when his Mom passed away. It was a great trip, all things considering & we enjoyed being with family & reminiscing & talking about memories of Gerrie. On a brighter note we found out we are having a baby boy! I think Kurt is still in shock, that or he just doesn't show excitement very well, but I'm busy buying baby clothes & designing the nursery, can't wait!

Family Pictures

We had a friend take some impromptu family pictures for us, it was a little chilly but at least we had a few turn out!

Hunting Season

'Tis the season . . . to hunt! Kurt had a week off for vacation last week & was lucky enough to meet a guy at the hospital who showed him some property he could hunt on just about a mile from our house so Friday morning this is what he came home with! His 1st Big Ohio Buck! He is a huge 10 point & we got well over 100 lbs of meat off him! Kurt was very proud to say the least & is looking forward to getting him mounted to add to his collection!

Crazy "Sad" Hair Day

So Kylan's school had crazy hair day the other week & we had talked about what she wanted me to do & we decided on a mohawk so the morning came & I gave her a mohawk after which she pouted and whined that she didn't like it but by that time it was too late to redo it so she left for school like this:

Halloween

For Halloween this year we decided not to brave the cold & instead went trick-or-treating at the mall with friends where it was nice and warm! Kylan the cowgirl

McKartny as Batgirl (again). We had originally planned to be Minnie Mouse until she found her batgirl costume in the closet & she insisted on wearing again this year!

Carving pumpkins this year was kind of crazy. Kurt got called into the hospital several times the day we decided to do them so our tradition went from a couple hours to a couple of days! Above is Kylan's on the left, Mustang symbol (she informs us that when she's older she will have a Mustang). And McKartny's on the right as none other than Batman!
And of course Kurt blasted us all out of the water with his Boise State design done without a stencil! And mine is the easiest & most boring, I just don't have the creative gene like Kurt does.

Just like Dad

Kylan has been asking for a bow so she could shoot with Kurt. We thought we'd wait til Christmas but Kurt didn't want her to wait that long so we found her a little bow & she's been shooting ever since! Now she's asking when she can go hunting with Dad, thank goodness that's not for a couple more years!

McKartny's 3!

Last month McKartny turned 3! Kylan had school that day so we just hung out together & played with toys until everyone got home that night & we had her favorite: chicken & green beans then had a few friends over for "Tangled" cake & ice cream! I know she had a great day because she kept telling me so! We love our little monkey, she is such a cuddle bug & loves to give hugs & kisses, which helps her get away with alot!

My Kindergartener

I hear it alot but I truly can't believe Kylan is in Kindergarten! I was a bit nervous for her because she had only been to preschool for a couples hours a few days a week & kindergarten here is all day everyday, so I thought she'd be a little exhausted after day 1 but she ran off the bus yelling "I LOVE SCHOOL!" That made my day knowing she loved it so much.
The night before she couldn't go to sleep she was so excited. She said it was like Christmas!
She was also very excited to ride the bus, I don't remember having that excitement, I remember severly disliking the bus but she said "It's so fun, it goes really fast!" It also helps that she's only on the bus with kids her age so that eases my fears a little.

I'm so relieved that the anticipation met her expectations, she was just as excited for day 2 as she was for day 1. Here's to a great year!
