Easter Fun

Yes I've been slackin a bit, this post is a little late. We had a great Easter weekend and surprisingly the weather wasn't horrible, at least there wasn't snow like last year!
We went over to a friends for an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday morning. It was a tad chilly but the sun was shining so that made it bearable. Kylan had alot of fun finding all the eggs but of course more fun opening every one and eating all the candy!

I'm not sure of the concerned look on her face, somewhat confused as to what to do?

Checkin out the goods! She started out at the swing set . . .

And ended up in the wagon.

Drooly McKartny, she now has FIVE, yes five teeth, poor babe I hope they give her a break soon!

She is so funny, she scrunches up her face and breathes really heavy through her nose like she's trying to get boogers out or something and then just laughs :)

That night we colored eggs, Kylan had seen a Cars Easter Egg coloring kit in Toys R Us so we thought that would make it funner for her

Our happy girl, even when she is in pain from teething!

Birthday Girl!

The Terrrible Two's are over here come Thrilling Three's! As of Saturday April 4th Kylan is 3 years old!!
She woke up that morning bright and early ready to open presents.
New cell phone, new game "Buckaroo", & sand castle building equipment. We have been trying to find her a swing set for awhile but haven't had any luck then I found one Friday night that I thought was perfect so Kurt went to go look at it Saturday night and came home with no swing set. He said it wouldn't have fit in our backyard, I don't know about that, but thus we are still swing set-less.

That afternoon in between conference session we had a little birthday party for her with a few of her friends.

Opening presents

Her one and only request for her b-day was a "Cars" birthday cake so we went to DQ and got a yummy ice cream cake that turned out really cute! She loved it and has to sleep with the toy cars on top!

Luckily the weather was nice enough for us to go outside and have the kids take a whack at the pinata! It was cute watching them all try to hit it as hard as they could and then fight for the candy!

One of her friends gave her this tutu that she absolutely is obsessed with and wears it all day everyday since!

I couldn't leave without a pic of my little babe. I know this is pathetic, she caught ANOTHER cold and was absolutely miserable as you can see, poor thing! And she now says "dada" all day long, I've been pushing "mama" but not luck yet.

Spring Break

Last week Kurt had a week off for Spring Break so his parents came out for a couple of days to visit. The following is just a taste of the many many pictures that were taken so beware! It was a really good week starting off with Kurt & I going out to one my favorite places, Shinto where we enjoyed some awesome sushi and then pathetically enough we finished off the date doing some grocery shopping. The next night Kurt's parents came into town and Kurt & I got to go to a Cavs game together . . .2 nights away from the kids in a row, definitely a record for us! It was soooooo nice to have that time together, it seems like it's been awhile. The next few days we went to Kirtland, the John Johnson farm, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, shopping, and eating out lots! Fun times!

Grandma & Grandpa Kinghorn

Deer in the headlights McKartny!! Notice the 2 bottom front teeth, she managed to get both of them in a span of 4 days, poor baby she was miserable!

Gotta love the Harvard shirt from our friend Aimee, she's almost too fat for it! As of 1 week ago she is off the charts in both height and weight! My chunky monkey!

Thanks Dave & Gerrie for visiting, we had alot of fun and the girls sure miss you guys already!

Pro Football Hall of Fame

The NFL Hall of Fame is in Canton so we took a little trip to check it out. Some pretty cool things I must say!

Above is some stuff of Larry Wilson's who apparently was from Rigby and played for the St. Louis Cardinals. Kurt was quite proud, I guess 2 good things came out of Rigby :)

The beloved Steve Young's "stuff"

I had to laugh at the background, apparently Kurt wasn't paying much attention to her backdrop!

Kurt's fav Peyton Manning, look how proud he looks!

The John Johnson Farm

I fell in love with this house the minute we pulled up. This is the John Johnson home where Joseph & Emma Smith lived for a little bit of time. This is wear Joseph was dragged from his bed in the middle of the night & tarred & feathered and then preached right on the front steps you see above the next morning.

There wasn't as much here as there was in Kirtland but I loved it so much more, the spirit was very very strong especially in the room below.

In this room Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon and told them about the 3 degrees of glory and so on. There's a man's journal, can't remember who right now, that was in the room when it happened and he said that he saw Joseph & Sidney be enveloped by a bright light and it lasted for almost 2 hours I think but that's all he saw or heard. And we know that Christ & Heavenly Father were in that bright light, just amazing to be in the same room.

Kylan being bored & tired.

These are the orignal doors, the effect was painted with a feather! Pretty cool huh?

Kirtland

Dave, Gerrie, & Kylan at the Kirtland Temple.

Kylan being her normal crazy self!

Really old

So this post should've been on her about 2 months ago but better late than never!
Trying out hot rollers, her hair is impossible, it won't take curl!!!

Kylan & Kurt went out one day after one of the many big snow storms and built a snow cave! Her poor little cheeks were bright red when they finally came in.

Her version of a snow man!

Photo Shoot

It's been awhile since I've had Kylan's pictures taken & McKartny has never had hers done so I figured it was about time so we took them to JcPenney and this is what we ended up with! I wasn't too impressed with the photographer, he was a young kinda punk lookin' kid (interesting) but at least we got a few good ones out of it!

January in review

2009 has started out with LOTS of snow, which accompanies a really annoying old man who has OCD and scrapes his driveway 5 hours a day, lots of colds & coughs & a bout of the stomach flu, giggles & squeals, lotion filled messes from Kylan, and much much more!

Our smiley baby McKartny. She'll smile at just about anything and when I'm not paying enough attention to her she squeals at the top of her lungs and lets me know she's still here! At her 4 month appointment she weighed 16 lbs 13 oz and was 26 inches long which puts her in about the 92nd percentile. She has recently discovered her tongue and feet which she is mezmerized by, such a fun age! It's funny how similar her and Kylan are already!

The sticky lotion messes Kylan decided to make! Above she was "supposedly" going to the bathroom and found McKartny's baby wash instead! And below she was once again "supposedly" asleep in bed and Kurt discovered her lamp was on and she had found her lotion and gave herself a facial!

Icicles out our front door from all the snow & ice storms! Spring better be on its way, I'm sick of the cold already! I was actually sick of it before it started; I'm working on convincing Kurt that Arizona would be an ideal place to live! We'll see!
