Idaho here we come!

Tomorrow we head home to Idaho for 3 weeks so this will be it for about a month! The other night we went out to dinner for one of our friends' birthday to a Japanese restaurant called Shinto. I never thought I would try or like sushi but boy was I wrong, it was delicious. Even Kurt tried it and really liked it! (Don't worry, it was cooked, for those thinking I shouldn't be eating sushi while pregnant)

Whenever Kylan plays her toy piano she has to be wearing this hat! And yes she needs her diaper changed, it's hanging out her shorts! Sorry

4th of July

We had a very fun filled, busy 4th of July this year! In the morning we went to the parade which wasn't all that a parade usually is, just a bunch of people running for office trying to get you to vote for them. Only 2 marching bands (no cheerleaders) and maybe 4 horses. Kind of pathetic but Kylan enjoyed herself and stocked up on the candy. I couldn't believe how much candy they gave out! So that made it all worth if for her (and I snuck in a few pieces while Kurt wasn't looking). Then we went home and took a short nap then headed over to a bbq with some friends and just hung out and talked and enjoyed the beautiful day that it was. Shortly after we headed to some fireworks up by the lake. Kurt and I both decided that it was not worth the drive or being surrounded by all the dumb people that were smoking 2 feet from us. Plus, once you've seen Idaho Falls' fireworks nothing really compares. We didn't get home until midnight and Kylan was exhausted and zonked out in the car. All in all we had a great day!

Kurt happened to catch Kylan running away from Lyza as she tried to stick a sparkler on her arm!

Kylan hid under the blanket for the majority of the fireworks; she's kind of a wuss and got scared!

I love this picture of the 2 of them. She definitely has her Dad's eyes, and wild personality for that matter!

Father's Day/Mother's Day

Yes, it's been awhile since Mother's & Father's Day but I thought I'd at least say something about how our days went. Mother's Day really didn't feel all that different of a day, Kurt had tests that week so he spent a majority of the day studying and I was expecting him to make me a gourmet meal but instead he invited one of the other students over for dinner so I spent my time cooking and cleaning up the kitchen! He promised to make it up to me and he has lived up to it. He got me a massage at a spa and for the 2nd time this month Kylan and I woke up to fresh Krispy Kreme doughnuts on the table! Last night I was about ready to die I was craving a doughnut soooooo bad so he got up early and went and got me some. He really is sweet when he's not stressing about school! :) For Father's Day I had Kurt's Bachelor's Diploma from BYU-I custom framed all nice for him. It turned out really great, and I think he liked it because not 5 minutes after I gave it to him he had it hanging on the wall right in plain view where he studies; I think so he can see it for motivation; if he can make it through that ordeal he can make it through anything! We then had his favorite meal: steak, cream peas & potatoes plus homemade brownies for dessert (he won't eat the easy boxed kind). Kylan & I couldn't ask for a better husband & dad!

Miss Attitude!

I think these pictures say it all! She had just woken up so her hair is all a mess and she's still in her pj's but she had to complete the outfit with the fuzzy heels! She loves these little shoes and wears them all over the house, especially in the kitchen because she likes the "clicking" sound they make. You'll also notice the lovely scrapes and bruises all over both legs. She went through a clumsy spell there for awhile and forgot how to walk and has the "owies" to show it!
America's Next Top Model???

Cheesin' it for the camera before church. She absolutely loves going to church and all week long she asks if we're going to church that day and if she can wear a dress. Sunday needs to come more than once a week for her!

Little Break

I guess it's time for an update of some sort! Kurt just recently had about a week & a half break after 3 LOOONNNGGG weeks of finals, but thank goodness they are over and his 1st year is officially out of the way! I couldn't be more proud of him for all the hard work he put into this past year. He even made the Dean's List for both semesters! Whoo hoo!! So over the break we just relaxed and spent some much needed time together as a family. I had Kurt help me paint some furniture for Kylan's room which I will post pictures of when/IF we get into a house the end of the summer. We painted a dresser, headboard, and bookcase all black. I'm excited to put together a new room for her. Wednesday we made a trip down to Wheeling, West Virginia and went to Cabelas. Kurt has been having withdrawals from guns, hunting, fishing and all that so we drove down (a little over 2 hours) and spent a couple hours just checking things out. I must say the piece of rasberry pretzel cheesecake fudge I got made it all worth it! Kylan loved seeing all the animals, especially the elephant. Of course I didn't get any pictures because the batteries died on the camera; just my luck, sorry! The drive was really pretty; lots & lots of tree covered hills!
One day we went to the Memphis Kiddie Park. Kylan loved it this time, last Fall she was a little unsure about it. But this time she wanted to ride all of the rides over and over. Her favorite was the boats, don't know why but she just laughed and laughed and didn't want to get off.

She still hated the roller coaster! Maybe next time!

The other day we heard Kylan crying in her bedroom so we went in and found her trapped in her closet. Dont' know how she climbed through that but she made it to what she wanted: all the wrapping paper/gift bags/ & ribbon!

We had a good Memorial Day. Went and explored a new park with Kylan, barbequed some hamburgers, played frisby golf, & I won a game of Settler's of Catan!! Now it's back to school for Kurt but we are counting down the days to come back to Idaho in July for 3 weeks.

Another . . .

We found out this week we are having another little girl! Both Kurt & I were almost positive that it was going to be a girl for some reason so when they told us at the ultrasound we weren't surprised at all. We are very excited and now have to work on agreeing on a name!

Indians Game

Last night Kurt & I were able to go to an Indians game. We had a ton of fun, it's the first MLB game Kurt and I had been to. We actually had pretty decent seats; they weren't clear up in the middle of nowhere! The weather was absolutely perfect. I didn't even need my jacket until maybe the 5th inning. Couldn't have asked for better! We look forward to going to alot more of these games in the summer, although Kylan probably won't be able to sit through more than 2 innings, if that.

Random

I finally did it! I pierced Kylan's ears; well not me myself but I got them done. Kurt finally gave in, I think his exact words were "I guess I can't stop ya." To me they make her look much older. I'm so glad we finally got them done.

Another new milestone is that we converted Kylan's crib into a little bed thing that she can get in and out of. I don't know why we didn't do this earlier; she loves it! I think she goes to bed and takes naps even better now because she's so excited to sleep in her "big girl bed." We were kind of worried that she wouldn't stay in it all night and up until last night we thought she had been until we went in and found nearly all of her books on the floor next to her bed. Looks like she'd been doing a little night-light reading but at least she ended up back in her bed nice and cozy!

I love this picture of her. Her and Kurt are best buds and she copy cats nearly everything he does so of course she had to wear one of Dad's hats because he was wearing one!
Bath time bubble fun!

Happy Birthday Kylan!

We celebrated Kylan's 2nd birthday on Friday! It was so exciting, it seems like she's been 2 awhile so for it to finally be official was great. Although the day was rainy and gloomy outside we still had a fun day. She decided to do me a favor and sleep in until 10 o'clock (Woohoo!), then we got ready to go and went and got a bouquet of balloons for her; I'd been telling her all week she could have balloons for her birthday and she didn't let me forget, I think she played with them more than her presents! We then met Kurt for lunch at Applebees and came home and she took a nap while I made her b-day cupcakes. She opened her presents when she woke up. Kurt said he never remembered a birthday like that when he was little, her's was more like Christmas, which I will admit we did spoil her a little bit. She got 2 new books, a ball, little airplane and toy truck, a farmer's truck to haul her animals around in, and her favorite, a tricycle from us then from Grandparents she got a My Little Pony, Blue Clue's coloring book, a new book, & a LeapFrog alphabet thing for the fridge, and then her friends gave her play jewelry, a barbie, coloring books and new purses,. We then had to persuade her to come eat dinner; we had one of the few things she'll eat: hot dogs, hamburgers, and chips. Then a few friends came over and we had cupcakes and ice cream. It was a wonderful, exhausting day!
Definitely ALL girl. She was carrying all the bags around wearing her play earring, bracelets, and necklace, and Kurt caught her posing in the our tall mirror in the bedroom.
Blowing out the candles, these next few are a little blurry for some reason, sorry!
She dug right in at first and then just sat there with her fingers mushed into the cupcake. She then took her fingers out and shook them all over which splattered pink frosting everywhere, we did get it on video.

Flying her airplane.
YEAH!
She absolutely loves her tricycle, too bad she hasn't quite mastered pedaling by herself!

Just a cute shot I got of her with her hair all curled.

Happy Easter!

We had a really great Easter this year! Saturday night we colored easter eggs, which Kylan was pretty excited about all the pretty colors and surprisingly we didn't make a very big mess at all! Then Sunday morning we gave her her Easter basket which wasn't all that much but she still enjoyed it; there was a cute little bunny, stickers, and some candy. Simple but fun!

Once she found the Smarties we had a hard time getting her to look at the camera, she was concentrating too hard on getting the wrapper open.

When we can get her to look at the camera, which is a chore itself, we can't get her to smile!

After church on Sunday we hid our colored easter eggs and Kylan had a good time finding them, but she was quite upset when we started breaking them to make deviled eggs, it was sad but worth it! We had the best Easter dinner ever. Kurt grilled some yummy halibut and we had twice baked potatoes, fruit salad, deviled eggs, and rolls. We both ate way too much but man was it good! I wanted to take a picture of it because I was so proud of myself but Kurt made fun of me so I didn't. But trust me, it was amazing, especially coming from me!
